Effective 1 August 2026 Last updated 1 August 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Codekyt Software LLP ("Codekyt", "we", "us" or "our") collects, uses, discloses and protects information when you use a mobile application published under the Codekyt Apps name (each an "App") or visit apps.codekyt.com.
This policy applies to the Apps listed in Appendix A. The appendix describes the practices specific to each App. Our main website, codekyt.com, is governed by its own Privacy Policy.
If you have questions, contact us at [email protected].
1. The short version
- You do not need an account to use our currently published Apps.
- Content you create in an App is stored locally in the App's private storage on your device.
- We collect limited technical, usage, crash and purchase information through service providers to operate, secure and improve our Apps.
- We do not sell personal information, serve third-party advertising or use your content to train artificial intelligence models.
- You can delete locally stored App content by clearing the App's storage or uninstalling it.
2. Scope
This policy covers information processed through our Apps, related support communications and apps.codekyt.com. It does not govern third-party services such as Google Play, which process information under their own privacy policies.
Our Apps are designed to work without an account. If we introduce accounts, cloud storage or a new category of data collection, we will update this policy and provide notice where required by law before the change takes effect.
3. Information stored on your device
The records, lists, plans, preferences and settings you create are stored in the App's private storage on your device. The specific content stored by each App is described in Appendix A. We do not receive or have access to that content unless you deliberately include it in a support request or share it using a feature provided by your device.
Your device may include App data in an Android backup associated with your Google account. Google controls that backup under its Privacy Policy; Codekyt cannot access it. Clearing the App's storage or uninstalling the App deletes the local copy, subject to any backup retained by your device or platform provider.
4. Information you provide to us
When you contact support, we receive the information you choose to provide, such as your name, email address, device and App details, purchase order number, message and attachments. Please do not send sensitive personal information or App content unless it is necessary to resolve your request.
We use support information to respond, troubleshoot, prevent abuse and maintain an appropriate record of the request.
5. Information collected automatically
Depending on the App, we and our service providers may automatically collect:
- Usage information: screens viewed, feature interactions, session events, App version, language, country or region derived from an IP address, and whether the App is on a free or paid tier.
- Device information: device model, operating-system version and a randomly generated App or installation identifier.
- Diagnostics: crash reports, stack traces, performance information, available memory and the App's state at the time of an error. Crash reports are configured not to include content you create in the App.
- Purchase information: product, purchase token, transaction status and entitlement status. Google Play processes payment details; we do not receive your card number or billing credentials.
- Messaging information: a device registration token and topic subscription used to deliver optional product announcements. Local meal and planning reminders do not leave your device.
We use Google Analytics for Firebase for aggregated App analytics. Appendix A identifies which categories apply to each App.
6. Permissions
Our Apps request only permissions needed for their functions. A published App may request:
| Permission | Purpose |
|---|---|
INTERNET |
Analytics, diagnostics, announcements, purchase validation and update checks |
POST_NOTIFICATIONS |
Optional local reminders and product announcements |
You may deny or revoke notification permission in Android Settings. Appendix A lists any additional permission used by a particular App.
7. How we use information
We use information to:
- provide, maintain and improve the Apps;
- diagnose errors and monitor performance;
- validate, restore and administer paid features;
- deliver notifications you enable;
- respond to support requests;
- protect the Apps, our users and our rights; and
- comply with legal and regulatory obligations.
We do not use App information for third-party advertising or cross-app behavioural profiling.
8. How we disclose information
We disclose limited information to service providers that perform functions on our behalf, including:
| Recipient category | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Google Play | App distribution, billing, refunds and updates |
| Analytics provider | Usage measurement and product improvement |
| Crash-reporting provider | Error diagnosis and stability monitoring |
| Messaging provider | Delivery of optional product announcements |
| Subscription-management provider | Purchase validation and entitlement management |
These providers process information under their own terms and, where applicable, contractual restrictions. We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect legal rights or safety, or in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing or transfer of business assets, subject to appropriate safeguards.
We do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioural advertising.
9. International data transfers
Our providers may process information in countries other than the country where you live, including the United States. Where required, transfers are made using recognised safeguards such as adequacy decisions or standard contractual clauses.
10. Data retention
We retain information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described here:
- on-device content remains until you delete it, clear App storage or uninstall the App;
- support correspondence is retained while needed to resolve the request and maintain business and legal records;
- analytics information is retained according to our provider configuration and is then deleted or aggregated;
- crash reports are retained for up to 90 days; and
- purchase and transaction records are retained as necessary to administer entitlements and meet tax, accounting, fraud-prevention and legal requirements.
11. Your choices and privacy rights
You may:
- delete local App data by clearing storage or uninstalling the App;
- disable notifications in the App or Android Settings;
- manage or cancel a subscription through Google Play; and
- contact [email protected] to request access, correction or deletion of personal information we hold about you.
Depending on where you live, you may also have rights to restrict or object to processing, receive a portable copy of information, withdraw consent, or complain to a data-protection authority. We may need to verify your identity before completing a request. Some anonymous or pseudonymous technical information may not reasonably be linkable to you.
For users in the EEA, United Kingdom or Switzerland, our principal legal bases are performance of a contract for providing paid and requested services, legitimate interests in operating, securing and improving our Apps, consent for optional communications where required, and compliance with legal obligations.
12. Children's privacy
Our Apps are intended for a general audience and are not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, contact [email protected] and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.
13. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical and organisational safeguards appropriate to the nature of the information we process. App content is kept in Android's private application storage, and information transmitted to service providers is protected in transit using standard encryption. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
14. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy to reflect changes to our Apps, providers, practices or legal requirements. We will post the revised policy at this URL and update the date above. If a change materially affects how we process personal information, we will provide additional notice where required by law.
